Attendance Rules and Credit:
Ideally a student should attend all lectures, preceptorials, tutorials and practicals held during the year in all the subjects(or papers). In case the student is unable to do so, then she/he must have:
- (a) A minimum of 66.67% in lectures, preceptorials, tutorials and practicals separately in all the subjects(or Papers) for all the three years of the course. Failing this, she/he will not be permitted to appear at the annual examination.
- (b) Please note that 66.67% attendance is also required in the concurrent courses separately in each year, failing which the student will be detained.
- (c) The University rules permit a student to appear in the annual examination if he/she has not less than 40% attendance in I year and not less than 55% attendance in I & II year(combined) in lectures and practicals separately provided she/he signs an undertaking that the shortage in attendance will be made up in the following year. A failure to secure 66.67% in all the three years combined in lectures, preceptorials, tutorials and practicals taken separately will make the student ineligible to appear at the annual examination. It should also be noted that a minimum attendance of 40% in each year is a must.
Students who have missed classes on account of:
- A serious disabling illness.
- Participation in Sports activities.
- Participation in an Inter-College, Inter-University event.
Students failing to attend a minimum of 66.67% of the lectures/ tutorials / preceptorials / practical classes will not be permitted to appear in the University Examination.
According to University rules, the total period of absence in case of State/National level sports events and in International sports events should not exceed 30 days and 40 days respectively, including the journey period, in an academic year.
No exemption for attendance will be allowed for rehearsals/practice in ECA/Sport.
In no case will the concessions granted under(i),(ii) & (iii), or in any combination thereof exceed 1/3 of the total number of classes.
Attendance of detained candidates will be calculated afresh for the year she/he has rejoined. Attendance for the years already passed will however, remain unchanged.
5% weightage awarded for regularity in attending lectures and tutorials shall be calculated as follow :

Concessions awarded under i, ii & iii, shall not be included while calculating attendance marks.
Every student admitted to the College for the Academic session 2008-2009 shall be compulsorily required to sign an undertaking that she/he shall fulfill the minimum attendance requirement.
Parents/guardians are requested to keep track of their ward’s attendance in classes. They may note that if their ward falls short of the minimum attendance requirements she/he shall not be permitted to appear in the Annual Examination. All such students have been prevented from appearing in the Annual Examination 2007-2008.
Discipline:
The College expects its students to conduct themselves in a disciplined and dignified manner in the College and outside. For this, some provisions are as follows:
- Students are responsible for their conduct to the Principal and are prohibited from doing anything, either inside or outside the College, that will amount to a breach of discipline or interference in the College. A student will be liable to disciplinary action for violation of any of the rules of discipline. Disciplinary action may involve warning, and/or fine, and/or suspension from use of the College library or even from the College as such, or any such action as provided for in Ordinance XV(B) and XV(C) of the Rules of Discipline of the University of Delhi.
- Students shall conduct themselves in a gentlemanly manner both towards the members of the staff(teaching and non teaching) and towards their fellow students. Use of indecent language or ungentlemanly conduct including teasing etc., shall be severely dealt with.
- Students shall maintain perfect silence in class rooms and desist from demonstrations or disorderly behavior. They must not loiter in the corridors or in front of class rooms and must keep as quiet as possible at all times. During their free periods, students should work quietly either in the Library or Reading Room, or spend time in the Students Common Room but without causing any disturbance.
- As per the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s order, smoking is strictly prohibited inside the College campus.
- Students shall take proper care of the college furniture and premises, and must not spoil or cause any damage to or tamper with College property, furniture, fittins and lawns.
- Students shall leave their bicycles, scooters or motorcycles locked in the parking area at their own risk. No bicycle, scooters or motorcycles shall be parked in any other part of the College building.
- No Society can be formed in the College nor shall any person be invited to address a meeting in the College without the prior permission of the Principal.
- No students suffering from any contagious or infectious diseases will be permitted to attend the College.
Prohibition of Ragging:
1. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the College premises or any other part of Delhi University as well as on public transport.
2. Any individual or collective act or practice of ragging constitutes gross indiscipline and shall be dealt with under Ordinance XV C.
3. Ragging for the purpose of this Ordinance ordinarily means any act, conduct or practice by which dominant power or status of senior students is brought to bear on students freshly enrolled or students who are in any way considered junior or inferior by other students. It includes individual or collective acts or practices which:
- involve physical assault or threat, and/or use of physical force;
- violate the status, dignity and honour of women students;
- violate the status, dignity and honour of students belonging to the scheduled castes and tribes;
- expose students to ridicule and contempt and affect their self-esteem;
- (e) entail verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gestures and obscene behavior.
In case any student, who has obtained degrees of Delhi University, is found committing an act or practice of ragging she/he may be subjected under Ordinance XV to appropriate action for withdrawal of degrees conferred by the University.
For the purpose of Ordinance XV abetment of ragging will also amount to ragging.
General Rules:
Students are expected to have regard and consideration for each other and be respectful to the members of the College staff.
Any information be obtained through the designated window.
Students are expected to make proper and careful use of the College.
Students are expected not to walk about or make noise in verandahs, corridors or lawns when classes are in progress.
Students are advised to see the Notice Board regularly.
Complaints:
Complaints regarding to sexual harassment should be reported to the Statutory College Complaints Committee on Sexual Harassment.
Complaints regarding to SC/ST harassment should be reported to the Statutory College SC/ST Committee.
