Examinations Recognised by the University of Delhi

(i) Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.

OR

Pre-University Examination / Pre-Medical Examination (2 years after 10 years of schooling) of an Indian University recognized by the University of Delhi.

OR

Intermediate Examination of an Indian University / Board or an Examination recognized as equivalent thereto.

(ii) Indian School Certificate Examination (12 years) of the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

(iii) General Certificate of Education Examination of U.K.

Pass in five subjects at ordinary level and at least two at the advanced level. These two advanced level courses may either be chosen from among the five ordinary level subjects or from outside this group as prescribed by the University of Delhi. If the GCE certificate mentions grades, these will be treated at par with the grades of the ISCE for the purpose of admission requirements.

Notes

(i) Applications from students who have not passed from the above mentioned examination bodies may be considered if accompanied by an Eligibility Certificate issued by the University of Delhi.

(ii) Students passing an eleven year school examination are not eligible for admission to undergraduate courses in the University of Delhi.

(iii) Students who have passed English and/or Hindi at their XII class examination will study English and/or Hindi, Course A in B.A.(Programme) and English/Hindi higher in B.A.(Concurrent Course).

(iv) Students who have passed English and/or Hindi at X class examination may study English/Hindi B in B.A.(Prog) and English/Hindi lower in B.A.(Concurrent Course.)

(v) Students who have studied English and/or Hindi only upto the VIII std. will opt for Hindi C. Since the College does not provide for English Course C, such students shall opt for another subject in lieu from the permissible options.

Direct Admission to the College:

Admission to the first year of undergraduate courses (barring Anthropology) is directly handled by the College. Applications for these courses will be received by the College on the Preliminary Registration Form on all working days up to the date announced by the University. Applications for admission to Anthropology(Hons.) course must be submitted directly to the Science Faculty, University of Delhi.

Admission through University/Faculty/Department:

Admission to M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. classes is made through the relevant University faculty. Students seeking admission should first register themselves with the relevant Faculty. The College receives applications only from students who have registered themselves with the Faculty. The same procedure is applicable for B.Sc.(Hons.) Anthropology.
