B.Sc. (Hons.) BOTANY

Keeping pace with the tremendous progress made by Plant Sciences in recent years, the Honours course provides a comprehensive training in plant forms, geographical distribution and taxonomy of flora, cytogenetics, molecular genetics, biotechnology and cell/seed biology, with special reference to Indian ecology, environment, commodities and forestry. Course work comprises class room lectures, practicals, field studies and instructional excursions. Possible opportunities that open up after graduation are work in the fields of botanical survey, farm management, cellular and wholesome physiology plants,eco-botany, flori/horticulture,biotechnology, Environmental Management, etc.The faculty comprises academicians proficient in the theoretical and practical aspects of this diverse field with reputed publications to their credit
